The Samsung Galaxy S2 has been getting a lot of buzz lately, but we can’t help but fall for the next best thing: the Galaxy Nexus. The smartphone is powered by Ice Cream Sandwich, which is the latest version of Android (also known as Android 4.0), making it the must have Samsung of the future.
The Nexus has an amazing and huge 4.65″ HD screen, making it the first of its type on any smartphone. It gives you the exact same resolution that a laptop will. So when you browse Facebook or play on FoxyBingo, the quality will give you the illusion of being on your computer.
Android is well known for being a little slow, Android 4.0 seems to have removed this issue though. It takes no time at all to update your Twitter status or post pictures on Facebook. Even emailing takes two seconds.
The sleek design of the Nexus is immediately striking, with its enhanced navigation keys that are a part of the large screen, rather than a fixture. They reveal themselves when you intend to use them only. And considering the size of the screen, you might be surprised to find the smartphone is only 8.5mm thick and is light to carry around.
The only downside to the exterior is the all-plastic casing. A little bit of metal would have given the phone that slight edge to improve its sophistication.
This doesn’t matter too much when you consider the powerful dual-core 1.2GHz processor. This high performing phone will constantly surprise you. The processor allows you to multi-task between apps far more easily than its predecessors.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is available from all good phone retailers, with some extremely reasonable deals.
