Jeremy May’s Paper Rings are literally so. But you have to look closely to notice. That’s because each is created with a “special” (read, secret) laminating process that compresses hundreds of sheets of paper into a hard, durable structure with a high gloss finish.
Close carefully, though, and you can see hints of each ring’s literary origins—patterns of paper, smidgeons of words and bits of illustration. Each ring is unique and May takes care to match each Paper Ring’s design to the book from which the paper came.
The Paper Rings are part of the literary-themed Littlefly collection that also includes bracelets, necklaces, pendants and earrings. Are are absolutely wonderful!
It’s neckwear that’s functional too. Or, at least it is when you are outside in shining sun. Then you can adjust the middle brass band of the Sundial Ring Pendant to the correct month and see the current time illuminated on the inside of the ring.
Alternatively, you could simply enjoy the Sundial Ring Pendant as an artistic, eye catching piece of jewelry while wearing a wrist watch.

How do I measure my love for you? With a tape measure, of course. Though not for everyone, we could see this ring bringing utter joy to the woman (or man) sewing it old-school on a vintage Singer. Be forewarned: When measuring twice, we advise using a real tape. Because the ring is adjustable, you don’t need know your favored tailor’s measurements. $60
When the occasion calls for cuffs, sporting these Watch Movement Cuff Links enhances your cool factor while paying tribute to the dying art of mechanical watch-making. The links—made of vintage non-working watch parts—won’t ensure you make your 8 pm dinner seating, but they might be a subtle reminder to be on time—or to cherish every minute. Priced at $45, the cuffs won’t be an exact match, but we think that just adds to their charm.
Ah, nothing says love like a ring modeled after a plastic toy construction piece. So the German design and lifestyle firm Mathea developed a LEGO Wedding Ring. It’s solid sterling silver and is topped with four dimples onto which real LEGO pieces can be attached! Don’t worry, you LEGO-ettes haven’t been forgotten either. One- and two-dimple rings are also available for the more feminine (but still geeky) look.
