thomas schur rubber table

You wouldn’t think that a table with a rubber top and toilet plunger legs could be remotely appealing. Yet somehow the Thomas Schnur Rubber Table works. The rubber allows the table to be flexible. The toilet plunger legs allow it to stay firmly in place. The table is also waterproof and has soft edges (at least relative to typical tables) making it remarkable kid-friendly. The table’s currently in concept mode; contact Thomas Schur Product Design about sales.

knife & saw bike shelf

Rarely can a bicycle storage solution be described as “elegant,” yet that adjective perfectly fits the Knife & Saw Bike Shelf. It’s essentially a high quality book shelf with a notch into which the top bar of a bicycle can be fit. What especially vondrous about the Bike Shelf: It doesn’t look out of place when not holding a bicycle. $300 for walnut or $270 for ash

Check out the Clankworks Pinch Stand for another cool bicycle storage item.

miesrolo chair

Creating a cantilever chair—a chair with no back legs—isn’t that difficult. But creating a cantilever chair that can be rolled up . . . aye, there’s the rub. Yet that’s exactly what Serb designer Uros Vitas managed to do with the Miesrolo. His invention, the world’s first roll-up cantilever chair, uses a synthetic polymer with elastic properties similar to rubber. The back of the chair holds its form because of the wood pieces, which “lock” the chair into shape. We’d love to have some of these vondrous chairs to roll into our own back yard but, sadly, they are not currently available for sale.
