Companies developing bluetooth cellphone headsets usually start with their technology and then design a physical housing for it. Motorola took the opposite tact with its Motorola HX520 OASIS, conducting ergonomic studies on what would make for the most comfortable headset and then fitting their technology within that design.
That isn’t to say that the OASIS is technologically inferior. Built-in voice alerts warn you about incoming calls, phone connectivity status and batter level. The OASIS also masks wind noise in gusts up to 12mph—twice what typical bluetooth headsets are capable of. But what good is a capable cell phone headset if it isn’t comfortable to wear? We’re glad Motorola finally asked themselves that question.
