Many people have a special memory from a time spent on one specific beach. Now there’s a way to wear that beach memory, literally, on your shirtsleeve—Custom Beach Cufflinks. Or, for women, there’s a variety of Custom Beach Necklaces.

The custom beach jewelry comes from Uncommon Goods, an online purveyor of all manner of cool stuff. The jewelry is handmade by taking a small amount of textured sand and then mounting it flat onto a piece of sterling silver.

Uncommon Goods has stores of sand to make jewelry out of from literally hundred of beaches around the world. Most of those beaches are in the United States but some are international locales as far flung as Jamaica’s Dunn River Falls, Ireland’s Dingle Bay and the Indian Ocean island of Diego Garcia. We recently lifted up the cushions of our sofa and found a whole trove of coins, keys, books and assorted nicknacks hiding underneath. Our guess is that Japanese artist Daisuke Motogi had a similar experience. And that, the spirit of “If you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em,” he designed the Lost In Sofa.

Motogi’s sofa is covered in gaps between cushions that are specifically designed to put things in. Store a book, sunglasses, the TV remote and even a cup of coffee by sticking it into any crevice.

Unfortunately, Lost In Sofa is only in the concept phase at the moment. But we’d buy one if it were ever available for sale—as soon as we found our wallet.

Here’s a goal list you can hang in your kitchen that looks cool, costs almost no money and is something you can make yourself.

The instructions can be found over at the vondrous Cornflower Blue Studio blog. All that’s required are post-it notes, a pencil, markers, a ruler and an 11 x 14 inch piece of bristol board or heavy card stock. And, oh yeah, you’ll also need a little artistic talent if you want to draw a top header.

We plan to make one ourselves. Just as soon as we get through the rest of our to-do list.

Leave it to BMW to change that with their new BMW C 650 GT Scooter.

The 650 GT features a 647cc Parallel Twin engine capable of putting out 60 horsepower. The engine has a 90-degree crank pin offset and 270-degree ignition spacing that help keep vibrations low. Between that and the tubular steel bridge frame mated to a diecast aluminum swingarm, the 650 GT offers a rigid, stable ride. This is the sort of scooter you can take out on a country road.
