MP3 files and compact discs and may have long since replaced the vinyl record in terms of audio technology. But that hasn’t stopped designers from coming up with creative alternative uses for the once mightly LP. People have covered their roofs with music records, determined the time with music records and, now, protected their tables with music records.
That last one comes courtesy of Gama Go and their Record Placemats. Though they look like real vinyl, these placemats are really made from a silicone, dishwasher safe silicone. Music record coasters are are available too. And when you aren’t using them you can store them in a retro record sleve (pic, below). Try doing THAT with an MP3 file. $18 for 2
